ACTION:
Supports the natural bowel muscle peristaltic action and helps increase muscle tone. CHINESE RHUBARB BARK (Rheum officinale): This herb contains anthraquinone glycoside, a stimulant cathartic that improves the smooth muscle tone of the large intestine, yet is not habit forming. In small amounts it is a gastrointestinal tonic and stimulant aiding digestion. It also has astringent properties and has been useful in treating diarrhea.

ALDER BUCKTHORN BARK (Rhamnus frangula): Also an anthraquinone glycoside with properties similar to Chinese Rhubarb Bark, it is also used for rheumatic disorders.

BARBERRY ROOT (Berberis vulgaris): This herb tends to increase secretions and excretions thus improving digestion and assimilation. This is done through the activation of the lymphatic system and ductless glands. A tonic to the gastric function, it stimulates the flow of bile into the duodenum. The root of many constipation problems stem from the liver and the gall bladder. This herb helps relieve this problem.

DANDELION ROOT (Taraxacum officinalis): A specific liver tonic, this herb activates the liver encouraging ridding it of wastes, also bile, into the duodenum thus helping lubricate the intestines. It also aids digestion.

CARDAMOM SEED (Eletarria cardamomum): Its bitter taste tends to stimulate secretions into the intestinal tract and its pungent or valical oil properties help keep the cathartic action of the formula from creating cramps or gripping.
